A community group in Kanawha County is working to save that portion of Coonskin Park that would be impacted improvements at West Virginia International Yeager Airport. The group Save Coonskin Park has around three-thousand signatures so far on a petition that aims to protect the greenspace. West Virginia International Yeager Airport’s proposed plan involves expanding the existing runway by 300 feet and it’s in the preliminary phase of development with the Federal Aviation Administration.
