Signatures are being gathered to help save Coonskin Park

A group of West Virginians are on a mission to save Coonskin Park. The park is under threat of mountaintop removal for a West Virginia International Yeager Airport project to move and expand the runway. That group was recently at one of the shelters in Coonskin Park that is up for demolition, passing out yard signs and getting people to sign a petition that would go to the Federal Aviation Administration and local leaders. West Virginia International Yeager Airport is looking to move its runway over the park to comply with FAA design standards. Eyewitness News reported that the main thing Save Coonskin Park! wants people to know that the runway project is not a done deal.
