The first phase of demolition for the former St. Albans Junior High School began Tuesday. While the first part is being demolished, which includes the old gym, crews are abating the other side of the building. The entrance of Lee Street off of Kanawha Terrace will be temporarily closed during demolition. The closure will be in place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, until the completion of the first phase of demolition. The whole demolition should be done by mid-July. If you’d like a brick as a momento, The Red and Black Athletic Club and the St. Albans Historical Society are handling that.
