Upshur County Schools get a new Superintendent

A new superintendent of schools has been selected in Upshur County after the state board of education took over the school system. Christy Miller was named the superintendent of Upshur County Schools effective July 1, according to a news release from the West Virginia Department of Education. Miller is currently the Taylor County Superintendent. An investigation uncovered the possible misuse of funds at Upshur County schools. Miller will take the reins from Steven Wotring, who has been serving as interim superintendent following the state board’s takeover on June 14. Wotring will move to an advisory role.
