WV National Guard troops to head to the Texas border

Fifty members of West Virginia’s National Guard will be sent to the country’s southern border in Texas. Gov. Jim Justice said the National Guard members will begin training and will be sent to Texas for 30 days beginning in August. The governor cited alleged incoming fentanyl and human trafficking as issues at the border that could impact the Mountain State. West Virginia joins a growing list of Republican-led states that have committed National Guard members to the border.
