A gun is found at a TSA checkpoint at Yeager Airport

A Jackson County woman was cited after police said she attempted to bring a loaded handgun through a security checkpoint at West Virginia International Yeager Airport. Officers were alerted Saturday after a .380 caliber handgun loaded with seven bullets and one in the chamber was spotted by a Transportation Security Administration officer at an X-ray machine. The airport was brought to a standstill during a busy travel weekend. The gun was the seventh caught at the airport so far in 2023, tying the record set in 2019. Six guns were found in each of the previous years.
