A woman accused of setting a fire that killed a man in Kanawha City has pleaded guilty. Patricia White pleaded guilty Monday to voluntary manslaughter and second-degree arson in connection with a deadly 2022 fire. White is accused of setting fire to the home where Dennis Rutledge of Charleston was squatting. He was found unconscious in the home during the fire and was taken to a local hospital where he later died from smoke inhalation. White’s sentencing is set for Sept. 25.
