New safety measures are in place after recent incidents on the Chuck Yeager Bridge near Kanawha City on Interstate 64/77. Several vehicles struck cables hanging from the bridge on Monday evening and some vehicles ended up with damaged windshields. The Parkways Authority has since required the contractor, Southern Road and Bridge, LLC, to posting warning signs and taking other safety precautions. Speed has been reduced to 50 miles per hour in that construction zone.
