Christiansen is chosen to represent Kanawha County on West Virginia First Foundation board

West Virginia’s state health officer has been chosen to represent a region that includes Huntington and Charleston in a foundation that will control opioid settlement funds. Matthew Christiansen will represent Region 5 in the West Virginia First Foundation. The nonprofit will be in charge of dispersing more than $1 billion in opioid settlement money. Christiansen, who currently serves as the state health officer in West Virginia, will represent Cabell, Clay, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Putnam, Mason, Mingo and Wayne counties on the foundation board.
