Police say an Ohio man is dead after being wanted in connection with the shooting of a West Virginia State Police trooper Monday. Scott Arthur O’Brien, of Hamilton, Ohio, had been wanted in connection with the incident reported about 9:15 a.m. Monday near the Dollar General in Midway. A female trooper stopped O’Brien’s vehicle and he’s then accused of firing one shot, striking her in the elbow. She is expected to be okay. O’Brien was spotted near Sunset Hills Missionary Church near Coal City Monday evening and refused to drop his weapon. He was shot by police and died at the scene.
