Volunteer firefighter dies in utility vehicle accident in Mercer County

A 19-year-old volunteer firefighter has died following a side-by-side rollover that happened Tuesday afternoon in Mercer County. Two members of the Bramwell Volunteer Fire Department – a father and son – were examining previous work sites using a department-owned vehicle when the incident occurred, according to a social media post from the department. The post said the son was killed after the duo attempted to stop the vehicle from rolling and were dragged over a hillside. The two firefighters were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The department said the son succumbed to injuries overnight while the father has been discharged from the hospital.
