The Putnam County Animal Shelter has re-opened, after closing because one of the dogs at the shelter tested positive for parvo. Parvo is highly contagious and can be deadly for dogs. The shelter has re-opened to the public after a deep clean and evaluations. For now, the shelter is only doing intakes for dogs, and only doing adoptions for dogs and large, adult cats.
