Former Chapmanville Police officer is in custody in Georgia

Georgia authorities have apprehended a former Chapmanville police officer that has been charged in connection with the disappearance of a K-9. Marcus Dudley has been charged after K-9 Chase went missing in April of this year. Authorities in Henry County, Georgia took Dudley into custody Tuesday, according to the Kanawha County Prosecutors Office. An arrest warrant was issued for Dudley after he missed a hearing in Kanawha County last week. Dudley was indicted by a Kanawha County grand jury on charges of falsely reported an emergency, two counts of making false statements, obstructing an officer and animal cruelty. Agencies continue to search for the missing K-9. Investigators have not said if they believe the dog to be deceased.
