Frontier contract extended through August 19

Negotiations continue as Frontier Communications and members of the Communications Workers of America have made an agreement to extend employee contracts through Aug. 19. Earlier this month, union members voted to authorize a strike, citing issues with job security and healthcare. The CWA released a statement saing both parties agree to maintain the status quo with the collective bargaining agreement in effect. West Virginia workers have asked Frontier to limit sub-contractors working on the state’s broadband projects. According to the CWA, the current contract covers about 1,400 employees in the Virginias.
