Judge denies a request to lower accused babysitter’s bond

A judge denied a request to have Brittany Napier’s bond lowered. Napier was arrested on July 17 on a warrant for child neglect causing death, and lawyers requested that the bond be lowered from $250,000 to $50,000. In addition to the denial of the bond request, she was also ordered to have no contact with her own child. Napier was the babysitter for 2-year old Za’khi Williams. He died on July 11 after he was alone in his playpen and apparently suffocated against a mattress. More court dates are pending for Napier.
