Putnam County Animal Shelter moves forward under new leadership

The Putnam County Animal Shelter has a new chief humane officer who hopes to get the shelter back on track. President of Putnam County Republican Women Debbie Deweese has been pushing for the animal shelter to make changes after dead animals were found in the freezer, and others were living in poor, unstable conditions. One family’s dog was accidentally euthanized. Eyewitness News reported that a goal is to make the animal shelter a no-kill shelter in the future. The Putnam County Commission plans to vote on a new animal shelter board at its next meeting.
