The Kanawha County Commission approved an American Rescue Plan funding request from the West Virginia International Yeager Airport. The commission approved $400,000 request for the airport to have a new maintenance and public safety building that would move the airport response coordination center and the police department to a better location. Airport director and CEO Dominique Ranieri said this project would kick start other projects to update the airport, like a new rental car facility.
