Daniel Burdette, of Hurricane, was charged with the misdemeanor offense Tuesday. He’s a patrolman who has served two years with Dunbar police. Chief Brian Oxley said his agency has cooperated completely with the investigation that is being handled by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Oxley said Burdette was placed on unpaid administrative leave immediately after he was made aware of the allegations. The alleged incident happened at Burdette’s home in Hurricane. Burdette posted a $5,000 bond following his arraignment.
