A Fayette County man hired to do work on a home faces dozens of fraud charges after deputies said he transferred money from the customer’s bank account without permission. 40-year old Jason Rice of Oak Hill is charged with 74 counts of felony computer fraud and obtaining money under false pretense. Deputies said Rice was hired in June 2023 to do work on a woman’s home. At some point, Rice allegedly attached the woman’s debit card information to multiple money transfer apps. The woman told investigators Rice allegedly transferred more than $7,000 out of her account over the course of several transactions without approval. Rice is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
