Four men accused of being involved in a 2022 fatal shooting have been indicted. Court records show Malik Hawk, Lawrence Foye, Darmarquis D. Patterson, and Matthew Daughtery, were indicted by a Cabell County grand jury in the 2022 death of Christopher Johnson. Court records said in November 2022, police responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of 18th Street and Artisan Avenue in Huntington. Johnson was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he died. Investigators said Hawk, Foye, Patterson and Daughtery traveled from Charleston to Huntington to meet Johnson with the intention to rob him and fled back to the Charleston area. Three of the men – Hawk, Foye and Patterson – were taken into custody shortly after, but Daughtery wasn’t apprehended until August 2023.
