Johnson Memorial Methodist in downtown Huntington is hosting its Blessing of the Animals on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. The celebration comes on the same week as the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Animals. Dogs, cats, ponies, hamsters and more are welcome for the community blessing, the church said, as long as they’re on a lease, in a carrier, or in a vehicle at the fence.
