Investigators were active this week in a Raleigh County cold case

Investigators may be a step closer to solving a decades old case in Raleigh County involving a missing mother and her daughter. The Federal Bureau of Investigation in Pittsburgh looked into things at a home on Kyle Road in Mabscott this week in connection to the investigation into the 2000 disappearance of Susan Carter and daughter, Natasha “Alex” Carter. The two were last seen in the Beckley area twenty-three years ago. At the time of their disappearance, Susan and Natasha’s father were having a custody dispute and the girl had moved in with her mother and her mother’s new husband. Eyewitness News said, not long after she moved in, the pair vanished. The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information in the case. West Virginia State Police are leading the investigation.
