September 1 marked the day that it became legal to buy Narcan over the counter at pharmacies.Earlier this year, the FDA approved over-the-counter sales of Narcan without a doctor’s order. Up until this point, Narcan was mostly administered by first responders, medical professionals, and caregivers. This is the first time it’s widely available for anyone to purchase. Groups will offer training on administering Narcan for anyone who wants it.
