A company that makes lenses to help people with cataracts is expanding its facility in Cabell County. Alcon, located on Route 2 in Lesage, employs about 500 people, and the new construction will keep those jobs at the location. Construction on the expansion has started, with the facility being about 200,000 square feet when completed. The expansion will also bring the production process, which takes place at another location in Huntington, to one location at the new renovated facility. The project cost is $70 million, and is expected to be finished in 2025.
