Calhoun County fire turns into murder-suicide investigation

Emergency crews responded to a structure fire that killed one person Saturday afternoon in Calhoun County. West Virginia State Police said the fatal fire is now a murder-suicide investigation. The body of 74-year old Harvey Haerr was found outside of a home in a remote area off of Beech Road. State Police believe the remains found inside are that of Haerr’s wife, 62-year old Elizabeth Haerr. The remains were sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and an autopsy. Firefighters from Upper West Fork, Clover and Spencer-Roane assisted.
