Fayette County teacher’s aide faces charges for allegedly mistreating a special needs child

A teacher’s aide from Fayette County is facing several charges after troopers said she mistreated a student with special needs. Amanda Hollandsworth is charged with three counts of battery on a disabled child. Troopers said on September 27th the principal of New River Intermediate School called them about the possible mistreatment of a 10-year-old female autistic student. Troopers said evidence was reviewed and collected, and after consulting with the Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney, warrants were obtained for Hollandsworth.
