The West Virginia Public Service commission has approved a solar energy project for Mason County projected to create more than 300 jobs. New Haven PV I has been authorized to construct and operate a 100-megawatt solar electric generating facility south of New Haven, according to a news release from the PSC. The news release said the company plans to construct an array of 226,356 solar panels on 1,555 acres. In an application sent to the PSC in August, the company pledged to invest $97 million in the project.
