A Charleston man has been charged in connection with the sexual abuse of a minor dating back to 2021. Brandon Adkins was arrested and charged with sexual abuse after DNA evidence was confirmed to belong to him, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. Adkins was accused of sexually assaulting the girl in July 2021. Investigators said Adkins eluded law enforcement for more than a year but was taken into custody on an unrelated charge and placed in South Central Regional Jail recently. While there, detectives obtained DNA from him that matched the evidence collected from the victim. Adkins is currently being held on a $15,000 cash bond.
