Ski and snowboarding lovers will be able to hit the slopes as soon as this weekend in West Virginia. Snowshoe Mountain announced that it will kick off its 2023-24 season beginning Saturday, Dec. 2, after successful snowmaking operations for the past few weeks. Snowshoe President Patti Duncan said in a news release that they’re expecting to run 3 lifts with 8-10 ski trails open including a terrain park. They’ll continue to open trails through the season as the conditions allow. Snowshoe said it is replacing a lift installed in 1977 with a brand new one and that should be complete by mid-December.
