Sobriety checkpoints to be set up in South Charleston this month

The South Charleston Police Department, in conjunction with the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention, will be conducting two high visibility sobriety checkpoints the next two Saturdays, according to a news release from the South Charleston Police Department. The checkpoints will be from 8 p.m.-2 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 18, in the 5100 block of MacCorkle Avenue South West in South Charleston. The goal of the checkpoints is to reduce the number of alcohol and drug-related crashes in and around the City of South Charleston, as well as other criminal activity.
