Two leaders resign from their positions at Manna Meal

Two of Manna Meal’s top board members have stepped down following the program’s decision to go mobile after incidents at nearby schools. Chuck Hamsher said in a statement to Eyewitness News that he resigned from his position a board chairman due to a disagreement over Manna Meal’s direction. Marc Slotnick, vice president of Manna Meal’s board of directors, also resigned.
Right now, the food truck is serving breakfast and lunch at both the Equinox Shelter at 505 Leon Sullivan and the old Save-a-lot parking lot on the West Side at the corner of Virginia Street and Park Avenue. David Frerecks has been named interim board chairman, according to Wolfe.
