A crash in Wood County on Saturday killed a man with another facing charges of DUI causing death, according to Wood County sheriff’s deputies. Deputies said they responded to the 900 block of Southern Highway for a two-vehicle collision and found that Daniel Stewart had been driving a pickup going southbound in the northbound lane. Stewart struck a car driven by William Rankin, who tried to avoid the collision. A passenger in the Mitsubishi, James Kiggans, was killed. Deputies said Stewart was found to show signs of impairment from alcohol and was arrested. The crash remains under investigation by the Wood County Crash Team and further charges are pending.
