A man has been sentenced for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The federal Dept. of Justice said in a news release that John Paul Loudermilk was sentenced to three years and one month in prison related to Operation Smoke and Mirrors. Thirty-two people were indicted as part of that investigations, which was the largest meth seizure in West Virginia history. Between January and March 2023, Loudermilk helped co-defendant Karl Lamont Funderburk of Charleston distribute methamphetamine to customers, sometimes in exchange for fentanyl, according to court documents.
