A Mason County man faces nearly 1,000 charges in connection with the sexual assault of a child. 27-year old Owen Johnson of Ashton is charged with 836 counts of sexual assault, three counts of sexual abuse and four counts of strangulation, according to a criminal complaint filed in Mason County Magistrate Court. Johnson is accused of sexually assaulting a child over the course of two years. The child told investigators they didn’t know what was happening until they had a class about it at school and then reported the alleged assaults. Johnson is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
