As the Barboursville Target store remains closed because of a landslip behind the building, three homes in the area have been evacuated. The homes behind the Target in the Merritt Creek Shopping Center received voluntary evacuation notices.
A hill slip damaged the back of the Target store and forced customers to be evacuated on February 2. West Virginia American Water attributed the hill slip to settling in the shopping center area behind Target. Photos that made the web on Wednesday show the problem continues to worsen.
