A popular business is closing in downtown Charleston. Mountain State Distillery said on its Facebook page this week that it’s closing its doors. The business was the first legal distillery in the Capital City when it opened in 2019. Mountain State Distillery said it has space limitations at its Boulevard location and they also cited the city’s focus on the Slack Plaza area as a reason for its struggles. The owner will aim to find a location and post updates as the process moves along.
