Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper is dealing with medical issues. Carper was hospitalized recently for kidney-related issues and is recovering from a UTI, according to the county commission. Carper had a kidney transplant in 2019. In 2013, Carper underwent a quadruple bypass surgery and suffered a stroke two weeks before entering the hospital for that treatment. He hopes to be out of the hospital ahead of the weekend.
