Kroger workers could strike this week

Kroger union members from 38 stores in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio may strike over wages. According to a news release from the United Food & Commercial Workers Local 400 Union, workers are upset with “inadequate wage increases that don’t keep up with inflation, unacceptable increases to health care costs, and more.” Voting is happening today and tomorrow, with results expected on Friday. Around 3,000 Kroger workers would be affected, including stores in Ripley, St. Albans, Elkins, Charleston, South Charleston, and Dunbar.
