It has been almost a month since Kanawha County deputies found 39-year-old Brooke Carnefix and her son, 14-year-old Koda Jarrett dead with gunshot wounds inside of their St. Albans home. People gathered under the flagpole at CAMC General Hospital Saturday night to remember the two. The hospital was the chosen location for the vigil because that was where Brooke worked. Eyewitness News reported the man who allegedly killed Brooke and Koda, 31-year-old Markus Guy, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He waived his preliminary hearing and is being held at Southern Regional Jail without bond. The case will now go before a grand jury.
