Aweis Mohammed Abdi of Columbus, Ohio is in custody after deputies said he shot a woman in the face. The shooting happened Wednesday night in the 300 block of Davidson Avenue in Rand. A witness told investigators she and three other people, including Abdi, were sitting in a Dodge Durango in Rand when he allegedly turned from the front passenger seat and shot the witness’ friend in the face. He was later tracked down in Cabell County. The woman was taken to a Huntington hospital where she is in stable condition, according to the news release from the sheriff’s office.
