The Target retail store in Barboursville will reopen in the same spot after being forced to close last month following a landslide that caused the back corner of the building to collapse. No timetable has been set for the reopening. Barboursville Mayor Chris Tatum made the announcement at a City Council meeting this week. The store’s closure came due to a landslide that occurred on Feb. 2 which caused several structural issues and damage to a water main. Neighbors in the area were advised by Target engineers to evacuate their homes as structural and utility repairs are made. Engineers are currently working to rebuild and restructure the slope behind the store.
