Three electric school buses have arrived in Boone County. Transportation Director for Boone County Schools, Brian Linville, told Eyewitness News he estimates the buses will be ready to start running their routes in two to three weeks. A federal grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency gave Boone County Schools the money to buy three electric school buses at $375,000 each, plus charging infrastructure at around $20,000 each. The buses will save the district money over time.
