A Cabell County man was sentenced to jail Monday in connection with a shooting involving two deputies in 2020. Michael Pinkerman, who was recently found guilty of obstructing officers in connection with the incident, was sentenced to 12 months in jail. The sentencing comes after a mistrial was declared in the case when a jury returned mixed verdicts on two counts of attempted murder. Prosecutors said Pinkerman aided his son by blocking the door of their home and would not let law enforcement inside to serve warrants. The incident resulted in an exchange of gunfire that left two deputies injured and Michael Pinkerman Jr. dead.
At the sentencing, the judge credited Pinkerman with one to two months of time served.
