The Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority announced recently that the county would be taking over ambulance service in Cedar Grove in Eastern Kanawha County and that went into effect on Sunday. Cedar Grove Fire Chief Michael Coleman told Eyewitness News that the ambulance service in Cedar Grove is comprised of county ambulances and county staff. KCEAA offered jobs to the Cedar Grove EMTs and two accepted while two moved to different stations.
The only major difference for community members will be the uniform and the ambulance colors. Cedar Grove sold both of their ambulances and equipment to the county and two could get paint jobs and return to service in the area.
