The Constellium’s plant in Ravenswood is getting $75 million to put toward emission upgrades. The plant is one of the world’s largest aluminum rolled products manufacturers, and the money will help fund the implementation of low-to-no emissions technologies. The investment will help support the installation of low-emissions SmartMelt furnaces which can operate using a range of fuels, including clean hydrogen. The news release said the project will also include a new training and wellness center for all employees and onsite childcare, and it will provide financial and technical resources for local schools and universities.
