An Upshur County man was killed by his teenage son Wednesday after investigators said the father shot at the 15-year-old’s mother and pointed a gun at his son. Maxwell Laham was killed after an incident at a home on Guy Hardman Road in the Rock Cave area, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police. Laham allegedly shot a 12-gauge shotgun toward his wife during a physical dispute before the woman and her daughter were able to flee. The 15-year-old son, who was left in the home, found a 20-gauge shotgun and shot his father once in the chest when Laham pointed his gun at the 15-year-old. Laham was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
