Here’s an update on fourteen-year-old Kevin Wilson, who was heading home from an afterschool activity when the bus he was riding on, driven by 54-year-old Jeffery Brannon crashed. He remains in the hospital at CAMC General in Charleston after having his leg amputated Tuesday. Family members said doctors advised the best chance for survival was to remove Wilson’s leg from the knee down. His aunt, Meagan Casto had words for Jeffrey Brannon, saying “The trauma you’ve inflicted on the whole county, I hope it eats at you night and day,”. Brannon was fired from Calhoun County Schools a week after the crash for allegedly driving under the influence. His charges were upgraded to three counts of driving under the influence causing injury, 16 counts of gross neglect resulting in risk of death and three counts of child neglect resulting in serious injury. He is currently being held on a $750,000 bond.
