West Virginia has a new initiative to help kids improve math skills. The West Virginia Department of Education kicked off “Unite with Numeracy” on March 1 with a Math Field Day. The math proficiency project will continue for Pre-K through 12th-grade students and aims to show students how math intertwines with everyday life and shows up in nature too. Coordinators hope the project will spark curiosity.
