A fundraiser for the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association recently raised five thousand dollars. The Appalachian Timing Group organized a 5k fundraiser for the shelter to help with repairs to its building after a U-haul crashed into it in March. More than two hundred people took part in the event at the Kanawha State Forest. It’s possible that the KCHA will purchase a new building rather than repair the old one.
