Details on police chief’s investigation unlikely to be released

The Investigation into Charleston’s former Police Chief Tyke Hunt came to an end. Eyewitness News reported that the results are still not being made public. Back in the fall, Hunt was placed on administrative leave pending results of the investigation by the Professional Standards Division. Hunt resigned as chief in August.. During the controversy, a woman came forward saying he made sexual advances toward her at his office in City Hall. Hunt later apologized for his actions. Councilwoman Shannon Snodgrass spoke at council Monday night, asking why details of the investigation have not been released, since Hunt is still employed in the police department , but now with a lower rank. Snodgrass is calling for transparency. The new Charleston Police Chief, Scott Dempsey explained that the details of the investigation are not being released because it’s a personnel issue.
